I now offer three types of cams for the XU9J4 and XU10J4. Regrinds, new billet cams and built up cams. The new billet cams are excellent value for money, especially for international customers as the cost of freight is reduced, compared to a regrind. Any grind can be ordered on a new billet, solid or hydraulic. It is more economical to buy a new steel billet cam than have an old cam built up.
REGRINDS
Unlike other commercial regrinds for the XU9J4 and XU10J4, the two hydrualic inlet regrinds I offer are fast opening, high acceleration grinds, which have a lot of area under the lift-duration curve. Through careful analysis of the valve train and existing lobe shape, it’s possible to fit both Stage I and Stage II profiles on the standard lobes. Even though these two profiles have slightly less maximum lift than the standard cams, they both provide significant increases in power and torque when fitted correctly and matched with the right components.
Both the Stage I and II inlet cams should be used with the standard exhaust cam if possible. However, if your exhaust cam is damaged I recommend the Stage 0.5 grind below.
BUILT UP CAMS
Cam lobes can be built up as required, in order to fit grinds with more lift and duration. Damaged cam lobes are built up the same way.
16V CAMSHAFT PROFILES
Stage 0.5 Intake or Exhaust (regrind or new billet)
This profile is ideal for repairing damaged standard cams, either intake or exhaust. It is marginally bigger than the standard cams, so you will notice a bit more sting. Idle quality is still smooth however.

Stage I Intake High Lift (new billet only)
A mild hydraulic grind with extra lift, specially designed to make use of the extra flow available from big valve heads, but will also see improved performance with the standard head, over the Stage I regrind. Standard valve springs can still be used. Use with standard or Stage 0.5 exhaust cam.

Stage II Intake (regrind or new billet)
A more aggressive hydraulic grind with rougher idle. Needs 10:1 minimum to work properly. Aftermarket ECU and bigger injectors are required as this cam will make well over 180hp on a standard inlet manifold and 200hp with throttle bodies. Use with standard or Stage 0.5 exhaust cam.

A great entry level solid cam. Perfect for track days where increased reliabity is desired, due to extended rev range. This cam will make 200+hp and run reliably to 7500+ all day. Minimum compression 10.5:1, but 11:1 desireable. Use with Stage I Solid exhaust cam, #16S402A.
